Hugger won't fit the 55 tyre of the 1300s bike.

This is the answer I got today.

We have had customers who have fitted the hugger to bikes with both size tyres. It seems to depend on the profile of the tyre.

We advised our last customer with a 55 tyre to fit it (maybe with some spacers) and to see how it sits in regards to the tyre, and if it’s sitting too close, to send it back. He has been back in touch; to let us know it fit fine.

We only leave the suggested tyre size on, so we can tell customers individually of the reasons. J

Kind Regards,

Lisa Newsome

Fair enough , mark is better to avoid spacers .

What sort of spacers will accomodate a larger diameter tyre?

I think it is more a case of the tolerances if the hugger doesn't sit exactly in the mid-line of the tyre. You need a set of those off-set bolts to move it up a tad....

Certainly the ex-importer for Ilmberger confirmed that the 1200 hugger will fit the 1300 depending on tyre make but as soon as the profile changes you'll be stuffed!

Hugger won't fit the 55 tyre of the 1300s bike.

Tried getting one for mine when I had my K and gave up. It just sits too close to the tyre for comfort if you have a 55 tyre.

Do you have another name other than baldbiker??  ;)
