Thank you both for your replies. I did manage to connect my KTM990ADV to my lap top using TuneECU, but that was just a lead to plug in, and it worked.
This BM lark may be a bit beyond my computer capability & the old lap top in the garage.
I did read the 5 pages , just thought there might have been a £20 OBD2 tool that would do the job. As if :(
 Cheers Al

Can anyone tell me if any of the cheap OBD2 diagnostic tools available with a ICOM-D lead work on the wife's K1300GT ? Just want it to cancel the service light but would be good to have one for the car ect.
 Thanks

The Sealey vacuum filler kit is supposed to operate off a compressor but I used parts of the kit with the Pela vacuum extractor which worked far more effectively.
Just had a look at the Pela vacuum extractor ,looks like a handy bit of kit.

I use a Sealey coolant system vacuum filler kit in conjunction with a Pela 6000 vacuum extractor to creat the vacuum.
Hi Sorry I wasn't clear, I do have a compressor / air line in my garage, if all else fails I do have a manual vacuum pump for a brake bleeding kit I could use.

You need a vacuum puller for use with any of the filling kits; either a compressor or a vacuum cleaner.

The MityVac doesn't seem to have the radiator cap adaptors for use when re-filling the coolant system.
I think the T shaped piece in the kit is a vacuum generator that you connect to an air line, thought this ad didn't mention that. Looking at other ads for the same item do state this.

 Hello All
Can anyone shed light on the following questions please?
When doing a service on a 1300GT does the cooling system have to be filled from the bottom using vacuum in the radiator or can you just fill it from the top of the radiator ? I have seen a couple of instruction pages that show the vacuum method but not mentioned why. Would filling from the top create air pockets in the system ?
Just wanted to make sure before buying the vacuum kit.
 Thanks

Thanks for the photo .Are they those Bullets from Bikevis? I'm not sure they will be bright enough, they do look neat tucked away like that though.

 Thanks Rae nice project.
I have had a set of cheap LED spots on my KTM for the last 4-5 years and they are still working fine.
But I know it will be a bit more of a project to get them up in front of the oil cooler of the GT and would be a tad annoying for the cheap ones to pack up and have to re do it all again.

Thanks Rae , they look very neat .
I think we will go with something a bit bigger, like the ones in front of your oil cooler or something between the two. I have seen some small CREE something like these with the ali cage taken off.

Hubby and I both fitted  small led s which are surprisingly effective. Some people argue that they are sensitive to direction, but then again if the headlight is visible directly infront why not have some small leds that would be visible to motorists in junctions. Anything that might impinge on dopey drivers may well be the difference between being seen and not being seen.

 Hi
I don't want those GS mega spots that blind everyone just another set of lights under the rad may be . I have a set of round LED spots mounted to my KTM crash bars, but they won't really look the part on the GT.

After a nice ride out yesterday with the wife following on the new 1300GT ,I found it difficult to see her in the mirrors so would like to fit some auxiliary spot lights, so she can bee seen ,also it makes it a lot easier for the lead rider to see me at the back of the group on a ride out.
So does any one have some auxiliary led spot lights fitted to their GT ?
A photo would be nice. I did search but the post I did find had the photos removed.
 Thanks chaps
