For Sale / Wanted / Super low mileage K1200
« Last Post by runnerboy on Yesterday at 11:17:12 pm »
Evening all, was browsing for a new car (new to me…) and came across this ad for a super low mileage K1200. Little flag waving on the “long time unused” but might be interesting for someone. https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1692326

Friend of mine who has a 1250GSA told me his Chigee unit arrived yesterday so hopefully I'll get a good look and hands-on it shortly.

I have a related question though...the existing SatNav 3-wire feed usually found cable-tied up behind the headstock area on the K1300 - does anybody know the maximum current draw it will support?

I understand it has a switched live, negative and unused speed pulse connections so I will still need a permanent live for the Chigee but I would *think* as it was designed to power a Garmin/BMW Navigator IV then it should be able to handle an alternative SatNav unit but I would still like to know what current capacity it is capable of delivering just for peace of mind.

Thanks & kind regards,
-=Glyn=-

...where I doubt you'll come across any new/reverted/disputed/confusing/frustrating 20mph equivalent zones you lucky, lucky tykes!

MyRoute App was spot on with most of them but some had obviously slipped through the net. None of them were being policed...or obeyed by anyone other than us.

Thanks Brian. We are taking in 5 countries in 6 days, that's England, Belgium, Luxembourg, crossing briefly into Germany and back through France.

Hope you have a great time Rae. Currently in Wales with Matt (and Martin on and off) for a little Welsh Wandering and some drone flying, learning how to get it to follow him so we can have some aerial shots of his Old Gits trip this year.

Weather was also on and off yesterday but Sunday and today were good riding days and the drones didn't crash or get eaten by sheep so that was a bonus.

Well, it's that time of year again. We are staying near the tunnel on Sunday 28th April for a morning crossing on Monday. we are heading for La Louviere Belgium for one night before heading down to Luxembourg for a couple of days and then back through France to Bethune before home. There are four of us this year, there were five but one had to drop out for health reasons.
We don't have Richard this year so photo's might be a bit scarce  :-[

Kit Reviews / Re: Is Gore-Tex a rip off?
« Last Post by Phmode on April 22, 2024, 11:44:26 pm »
I get wet from sweat know matter whose gear I wear. I sweat in the night and sleep with towels on top of my very expensive linen sheets. Gore Tex doesn't work for those of who sweat heavily no matter what the weather or climate. The secret to keeping warm is staying cool.

I wear almost nothing but Gore Tex because all the alternatives are less effective. My BMW Savannah Gore Tex suit liner is about 20 years old and is still waterproof and keeps me somewhat sweat-wet free.

Value for money is/was (when I bought it) beyond comparison.
