way too much power in a k1300 for michelin tyres.... thats what i tell my pr4 loving mate on his sv1000 anyway.

I believe it was Grant Michelin or maybe Phil Michelin had a falling out with Dave BMW and so they always refuse to have the K in their Pilot Road list.

Well, Power 5's only recommended for the rear...

I've been reading the tables wrong, they do list pairs

Front and Rear

Road 5
Power Slick 2
Power Cup 2
Pilot Power 3
Pilot Power 2CT
Power RS

Front Only

Power GP
Power Cup Evo
Pilot Road 4
Pilot Power

Rear Only

Power 5

So now you know...and no one said you had to be clever to ride a bike  :)

Possibly because the K1300S is not being manufactured any more. I have a vague memory of finding the same issue with the K12 a few years ago

The K12 & 13 are listed on the Michelin site and they list the tyres for the 13 as per the table above, so they haven't stopped serving the K community.

It is just weird that they only list the PR4 for the front and not the rear.

It is just weird that they only list the PR4 for the front and not the rear.

Especially weird when the only rear only option is the Power 5. I'm not sure I'd want to ride with that combination with any real sustained enthusiasm. either in the wet or in the dry.
Correct rear brake use is scientifically proven to shorten stopping distances in EVERY road situation.

2 sets on my MotorSport before it died and 2 sets on my H2 SX

I'm not sure how "early" you think it is!!!

I had no concerns with the Road 5s. They were easily as good as the PR4s. They had slightly better feel and slightly quicker turn in and lasted pretty much the same distance. They also lasted longer before starting to white line.
