Sewell's in France 2022
« on: June 14, 2022, 01:59:52 pm »
For the first time in 3 years I'm taking Mrs S off to France. We land in France on the 22nd June first stop one of our favourites, St. Omer, then, Versailles (Melanie wants to take a look at the palace), Semur-en-Auxois, Chateauroux, La Rochelle (again), Bagnoles-de-l'Orne, and finally before heading back to the tunnel Montreuil-sur-mer. With one more stop at the Hippodrome March to break up the journey north. I have noticed a pattern over the years it seems we are seeing how many different ways we can get to La Rochelle  ;D

If I remember to take my David Bailey hat with me and tie a knot in my hanky I might take some photos  :winkthumbs:

Your David Bailey hat and your Jerry Hall sunscreen.
It's going to be hot!

Get those bins aligned nicely, in the background.

Have a good one.

Enjoy! Looks like a good fun plan and I have a couple of places starred at La Rochelle so it must be good :D

Have a good time Rae, La Rochelle is one of my favourites along that coast, I will be in the south of England that week and the weather is looking fine.

I'll do my  best not to make the bins prominent but they always seem to be in the background somewhere, and lets face it what a mess we would be in without bins  ;D

I went to the Palace of Versailles a few years ago whilst doing some work with Peugeot in Paris.

It was quite spectacular, so I'm sure that you won't be disappointed!

Rae in addition if you have any interest in WW1 memorabilia, then at the airfield at St Omer there is a memorial near to the entrance from the road and, if the club hanger is open, there are quite a few artefacts within it from the period. The airfield is around three miles from the town.

St Omer was the principal staging post for newly trained pilots and replacement aircraft on their way to the Front from England, in WW1.

Combine your love of France with a slight penchant* for cider:
https://en.normandie-tourisme.fr/the-cider-route/

*[French, from present participle of pencher, to incline]

'Incline' probably describes the effect quite well.
