Oil in the clutch
« on: May 30, 2019, 10:16:39 pm »
I need more of an explanation as to why I’ve seen it said, oil flow to the clutch only works when the clutch is pulled in/disengaged?  The oil pump is driven by the motor through the sprocket behind the clutch basket which turn as one.  As far as I know, when I disengage the clutch, the slave pushes some of the thrust adapter into the hollow shaft which delivers the oil. This action reduces the amount of exposure of the oil slots in the thrust adapter.  Does disengaging the clutch activate something else?

As far as i can understand no nothing else.
Mark after ten years of ownership , pulling the clutch every time am on a traffic light (with 1st engaged) saved the discs and the basket springs.
