Bike picures section and image storage?
« on: February 15, 2015, 04:39:14 pm »
It would be interesting to have images of the bikes we ride and the places we ride through. Not sure that the site storage capacity is up to it but maybe this could be overcome by a link to a EuroKClub cloud storage or some such thing we could deposit images on? This may have implications for the proposed subscription but cloud storage is pretty cheap these days.

Hi Ross! It's such a good idea that PaulC has already put up a post in the Technical section on cloud storage with instructions.

Brian (who hasn't tested it himself yet but used Photobucket extensively on the old forum using the .IMG link)

If you are using Photobucket Chris, you are already using cloud storage. That makes you smarter than you thought.  8)

I think it is particularly worth while reading, digesting and understanding Paul's pearls of wisdom he threw before the swine about how not to have the piccies of yourself in compromising positions (front wheel up in the air, knee down, speedo reading 197 etc. etc.) suddenly appearing on the front page of The Mail on Sunday.

Brian (...unless of course that sort of thing turns you on)

Something worth pointing out that anyone posting photos with the likes of photo bucket folk can click on that photo and access your album so either keep it empty or only leave stuff that you don't mind folk looking at.

If you are not careful they can access more than your photos  >:(

As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everybody is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

The key to not having others accesing your albums is not to use the IMG tag in photobucket but use the Direct option and then insert the [img] [img] thingies from the button in the editor. That way anyone viewing does not have access to the whole album.

The other way is to use the IMG link in Photobucket and remove the text either side of the [img] tags

Certainly didn't know about the phone but I'm little old fashioned and always use a camera guess I view it like cctv nothing to worry about unless you want to hide something and I'd left a couple on P bucket of photos which would had folk asking questions and deleted them I lead a complicated life when it comes to motorcycling and bikes :)
