Show us your favourite local roads
« on: August 04, 2020, 09:22:50 am »
I am just floating this idea to see if it will gain traction.
How about hosting a ride around your favourite local riding roads. We would have to limit numbers to host plus five riders.

It would give an opportunity for you to show us the best roads in your area and meet up with other members (socially distanced of course). This could be weekends or midweek for the retired amongst us. Members from further afield might want to travel and stay over the night before.

Ideally this would be a four to five hour route about 120 - 150 miles with a lunch and or coffee stop thrown in.

What do you think?

4 to 5 hours was a finger in the wind idea, you could make it less if the roads were more challenging, personally I draw the line at roads with grass growing in the middle.

10 hours, and those roads require full concentration. Impressed. I like it!
And I also like that you visit the council twice too.

OK peeps maybe I should better explain this thread. I don't just want a list of good roads. The idea is for you to host a local ride out to show other members your favourite roads.

I have two of these. The first one is an 8- hour (day)ride, the second one a 4-5 hours (day)ride. Are rides in (respectively) Northern France and "Flanders Fileds" included ?

I don't see why not Philippe, if you can get people interested. We might have to wait a bit.
