My head says the same thing. It would have to be free and with a free horse that is also a helper monkey. Otherwise it's not a bargain enough to risk it. BMW.

It exceeds the ratings in the manual, and Silkoline have been around for years.
Is this really an issue?

Your choice but I personally will only use the BMW Advantec oil in my K1300S
