How To - Tech & Forum support / Gear selector adjustment
« on: April 06, 2024, 08:44:30 pm »
I appreciate you can change where your foot is positioned on the gear selector on the K1300s, buy moving the peg up or down but it is still a little too high (in the lowest position) given the quick shifter it attached to the gear selector is there any way of lowering the gear selector a further 1/2 inch or so?

Thanks

Anybody been up to MCT Suspension or similar in the south London area... for either a K1300s or R1200 GSA for either a forks service or ESA rebuild/ service and if so any comments thoughts? I don't have any issues (yet...) on either bikes but just thinking of preventative maintenance?

Thanks

Umm it would appear the exhaust flap on my K13 has seized which was pick up during the 18K service, requiring a new exhaust manifold and bits, fortunately the warranty will take care of this, but has anybody else has similar, mine is a 2014 with a little under 18K  :(

Just had the 18K on my K13 done, if you had the valve clearances checked and plugs replaced then just lots of checking and testing and the fluids. As you say all the big stuff gets done at the 18K   8)

Likewise my final drive hub to be replaced next week due corrosion but perhaps BMW think its cheaper to show good faith and replace than the cost involved to re jig the production process.  8)

I agree, got the bike May 16 from North Oxford 1 previous owner who bough it from them, then in September took it to Vines as North Oxford consistently failed to respond to my calls and emails!! about a suspension problem, they replaced the rear suspension (under warranty) circa £2500, then the hot start issue (not covered by warranty or good will) £235 and now the corrosion (good will £1500) So nearly £4500 worth of work on a bike that's not yet 3 years old and I haven't had the a year yet!!!

I can only guess I have the Friday afternoon bike!! but at this rate I will probably be able to get BMW to rebuild the entire bike by the end of the warranty next year.

That said it does go well....... 8)
