Yes, the upper and lower marks on the sight tube compare to what you would have on the real dipstick as Max and Min levels.

If you are the sort who can get off the bike and hold it upright without it falling on you (like Richard, unlike me) then you can check it off the stand but it must be upright and not on the sidestand and the 30 second wait time is because it is a 'damp sump' (© Stormin Norman) setup so you have to wait for the oil to settle back in the oil tank and sump.

No, the Philip specials. Costas used the Chinese knock off ones and they seemed to work well. Or was that TPMS sensors? Wouldn't work well as coils...

I would always advertise bikes on Auto Trader and take out a protected number so you don't get spammed to death. AT will also give you a comparable idea of current value.

Don't be fazed by the wheel carrier rot, two of the 'Pristine' Motorsports on AT at the moment have more rot on the front than my 2012 Sport. Good luck with the sale.

See, there's your proof! You didn't change the bearings and you get shunted up the jacksie.

Change them bearings folks... :)

I didn't notice if they had locks the on the wheels coz I can see leaving the bike in one corner of the shed and coming back in the morning to find it in the opposite corner... :)

Way back, my R1150GS had the same MoT advisory. I rang Motorworks and they said 'is that all it is?'.

I decided to strip it and fit new bearings but it was a bugger's muddle to do and get shimmed correctly.

You have a good relationship with NOG so call and ask them about the tolerances.

I have the K1300GT but guessing this is the same tank as both the R and S and was wondering if anybody knew how much oil it would take to fill from Min to Max to give me a steer please?

Approx 0.5 litre on a K1300S from Min to Max (on the sight tube, not dipstick).

But I would trust the manual method rather than the dipstick, i.e warm the engine fully, put bike upright/on centre stand, and then look at the sight tube.

i.e warm the engine fully, put bike upright/on centre stand, TURN OFF ENGINE AND WAIT 30 SECONDS and then look at the sight tube.

The manual method is always the best and is what is recommended in the manual...which is what makes it the manual method  :)

But, amazingly, it wasn't a Chinese voice and no I did not mean a China voice...

And I have the floor covered with plastic tiles which have that grippy alumin(i)um plate like criss-cross pattern and that is hell to roll things over. I could use my belt sander to melt all the protrusions off of course.
