New guy
« on: December 06, 2024, 03:48:34 pm »
Well I forgot to mention previous bikes from when I started 40 odd years ago. Moved to Canada in '92 after living around Harrow until then. Love the banter here on this forum.

Suzuki T250 1970s
Yamaha RD350LC 1980s
Kawasaki KZ650 1980s
Suzuki GS 550 1980s
Suzuki GS1000 1980s
Yamaha XT500 1980s
Kawasaki Ninja 1000 1990s
Kawasaki Ninja 750 1990s
Yamaha FZ600 2008
Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom 2005
BMW R1200GS 2010
KTM Super Duke R 1290 2015

Plenty of wierd and wonderful bikes the RD was mental, the XT was a pig to start but reliable, took the GS1000 to the TT on the Isle of Man rode it around the track on mad Sunday. The FZ was me getting back onto bikes after the kids got older. The Ninja 1000 was a project bike loved that one. Before and after attached if I can figure out how. V-Strom was me planning on long tours as was the GS, never happened but fell in love with the shaft drive on beemers. Super Duke was a look at a Hyper mad bike ...... then I saw the light, I got a Hyper mad bike with the beemer shaft drive now have the perfect bike.
Low kms 28000 and only cost $8000 cdn

Fell in love with the big Beemer and wanted a big bike that's fun to ride reliable and shaft drive.
So the K1300R it was covers all of the above bikes and then some.

Can't get the grin off my face with the KR.

Aye aye, sir!
The links are working nicely, but to actually get an image embedded in the thread have a read of these two topics, Sid:

https://eurokclub.bike/index.php?topic=3699.0
and then this one, which is a small work-around which still seems to be needed:
https://eurokclub.bike/index.php?topic=5315

And here it is working:

Ah! If you want to get ibb images showing inline, then follow these instructions from Rae:
https://eurokclub.bike/index.php?topic=2500.0

Example (and very shiny it is too!):

Do I see lowered footpegs?
Been thinking about those myself.

And just to explain the reason for the complication in posting images - it's because our server (well, Brian's server) doesn't have the capacity to upload load thousands of images, so we have to use links to your originals.

Anyway, don't let all that kerfuffle put you off posting.

Yes lowered pegs but I removed them as they when installed moved my feet out so hitting the gear change was awkward had to turn in my foot just to get the end of the shifter, no good.
I'm looking into a set of Knight Design ones , had them on my KTM Super Duke 1290. They instal like stock but set lowered not out and down.
Also ordered HeliBars and a Pipe Werx slip on Muffler

Welcome Sid!

Totally agree, "Piglet" my Lava Orange K1300R is a keeper. I bought a Rocket 3 back in the Summer and every time I ride it i'm reminded what a fantastic all rounder the K1300R is!

>Moved to Canada in '92 after living around Harrow until then

i was dragged up around the Harrow area in the 70s. i seem to remember trying to keep up with a T250 on my Honda 350K4 and failing one day in 1977   :D
