Doubt Bridgestone will ever sell another bike tyre after this afternoons performance.

Their soft compound race tyres delaminated in the race, and because a lot of the race bikes were made out of C/F made a mess of those as well.

Now over the years I’ve meet some good spanner guys, but when one of the FCC bikes came into the pits during the night with an electrical problem and all the electrics are in the back of the bike they stripped the entire back end of the bike off and re fitted a new set up from ECU to fuel tank in 3 minutes 😳😳😳

Strips of rubber popping off at 180 mph+ can do a lot of damage. Luckily it hurt the carbon fibre seat units (and he electronic units within, by the sounds of it), but not the riders. there were also chunks stuck in the rear shock being pulled out.

I think just 3 of the top teams were using the faulty tyre - 2 chunked and the 3rd team, seeing the mess, came in before it chunked. Lucky them.

A Bridgestone-shod bike still won the race, and the Champoinship:

'And we shouldn’t forget about the Bridgestone tyres! They provided consistent grip and durability throughout the race in different conditions.'

Hahahahahahaha.
