I use a bambulab X1C. I used to develop 3D printer at my previous job so it seemed weird to pay for a printer after using different prototypes allong the way. But man this thing has blown me away. On all fronts...

PA6-CF is like the master of all 3D print materials. It's definitly stretching the capabilities of the printer but it still does it. and the parts it produces are unholy strong and resistant to temp.
But it's not my go to material.

ASA-CF for motorcycle/outside stuff is my go to though. Really low warping, and a good middle ground for strength and temp resistance. UV resistance is also super.

I is a very expensive printer but it has been used non stop since I bought it. the AMS (material switcher is a god send) and the bambulab filaments are super good.

My bike already has a lot of printed parts :)

Ah thanks for that! I have some reading to do!

The low temperature makes it that these batteries have a high(er) internal resistance than usual. And when under load the voltage drops more than when it is hot.

So yeah in sort: They are done :)

Interested on your thoughts on that Aoocci unit. I'm looking at Carpuride, Chigee, Cartablet, ...

But I'm hesitant to choose one and pay mony as I do not want to add low quality stuff to my bike. But I do like Carplay.

Thanks Jase. I will will ring NOG tomorrow, and ask for advice.

I went out on the BMW this morning (+3.5c) and the DWA message came on again, so when I returned home I changed the batteries.

The module is very easy to reach on the GT and, having taken off the "lid" and then battery cover, I was able to fiddle the new batteries in without removing either of the PC Board connectors. The most difficult part (for me at least) was refitting the top cover rubber gasket, which being thin and quite a complex shape had developed a mind of its own. However it went on in the end.

Have started and ridden (briefly) the bike and all now seems well.

I did test the old batteries, I think that they are the originals from mid - 2010 as they are marked "Varta". Each showed 3.44 volts, so no shortage of volts, though perhaps under any load (presumably on the pre - start checks?) they might not have been holding up so well.

Hi Rich, I'd say that is the sprag clutch.  I'd be wary of riding it much as if it lets go properly, it could disintegrate.  It sounds like it has partially failed, with some of the balls no longer intact, which is why it is intermittent.

excellent, thanks for that update,  sounds like you have a great set up there! I built an Ender 3 a few years ago, its low budget but like you say, there are many options to print items for the bike and other things and I've used it way more than I thought I would and its a bonus that I've taught myself Fusion 360 along the way. Particularly interested in what you say about more robust materials, current project is the Aoocci C6 Pro car play unit first on the Rocket and then have one ready to fit on the headstock of the R.

54bhp is enough to have fun on a scooter. And look at the er massive bean can exhaust:

Hang on - you can get a proper bike with a top-box for that:

When it spins over but doesn't start and then eventually it does, it 'can't' be a chipped/missing tooth otherwise it would never engage unless you moved the bike with it in gear to move the damaged tooth away from the splined shaft.

The annoyance is it often starts. Too often to ride to NOG on spec and guarantee I can demonstrate it (although I did manage it last time). And I never move the bike - well, not noticeably / on purpose - and it starts anyway, with no memorable change. I do try power off/on again, and the battery seems plenty strong enough. Still no real hints to the source of the problem.

But all good info, thanks!

I think I'll start with a call / visit to NOG before I stretch my mechanicing skills beyond their very small envelope.
