Well, when I got new tyres the guy at the front desk knew the rear wheel went on with a 260Nm torque but apparently the actual fitters didn't.

I need a longer bar.

Edit: I found a longer bar.

Oh for sure. My current choices above are from those readings of KTM forii. However I know you lot are all a friendly bunch (apart from Richard and his insistence on slaughtering a goat in front of a primary school every Tuesday) where I can ask silly questions :).

I've just given the bike a good clean and the chain is sticking in a few links so i'm going to buy the above stuff once I've read my workshop manual and assured myself I can manage this massive task! Oh, and I should check the chain guide things.

Before I put my rose tinted spectacles on I must remind myself my shaft peed oil on my rear tyre TWICE with my K, so... yes.

I'm also going to take the wheels off today and pick one of my fancy waxes/sealants/goat blood cocktails to try and keep them orange for longer.

Chains!

As it's finally a blue sky day I've wheeled the bike to my exclusive cleaning area (the patio) and after 20,000 miles I'm thinking of replacing the chain and sprockets before the Old Gits.

So far I've found myself at the below website
https://www.wscperformance.co.uk/products/525-pitch-112-link-chain-choose-your-chain?variant=35683586801832
I'm staring at the option "DID ZVMX Super Street (Recommended up to 1300cc) / Gold/Gold"

And then a Supersprox front and rear steel sprocket. Before I green light the flip out of this purchase, does anybody have any big time cussing to do regarding those product choices?

NB: I've no intention, desire, or chicken lips to change the number of teeth or beaks.

Damn. Glad you're OK though!

This will hopefully stick in my head and reaffirm my habit of keeping 8 miles away from the leader! Get well soon to all bikes and bodies.

Peterborough is closer to you than... me, so go and ask :P

🤣 F-type R - for the curious. Third Jag V8 I've owned. Had it for 6 years, same 6 years as my 2nd K1300S. I keep what I like rather than changing for fashion or newness. I'm in my 70s and I reckon I've had fewer cars than most my age - 11 total. Also the only vehicles I've owned with 4 cylinders in line have been bikes.

Aahh one of my favourites! I love those things. I've always liked the XKR, and the F Type looked like the more modern and slightly more insane 'replacement' :D. My only concern was - as Brian hears from me all too often - I like my cars to be armchairs, and I wondered if the F was too far towards sporty times. For reference I have a 13 year old E class coupe with the 3L dirty diesel engine. Wafty Mc Waftface!

Oh yeah, as a feeble attempt to give a nod to the ostensible topic: does it have radar cruise? :D

My car is a real quick one, bikes get in my way of overtakes sometimes. I can almost see the surprised eyes in their helmets when they look in their mirror during a quick overtake and see my car gaining on them. But I do always honour the bikes to do their thing when I'm a car wa ker.

Nissan Note? :P

I have just had a look at Vianden on Google streets and as far as I can tell there are no cobbles on our route.

Watch out for a particular fly. When I arrived there about ten years ago and opened my visor whilst trundling down what was then a cobbled street, he flew straight into my eye.

And although we won't be getting the same weather you got, we're off to mid Wales for a day or three so hope we have no traffic either. Remember - 20mph, 20mph, 20mph...

I stuck to 23mph just outside of Stirling yesterday. The local behind me just swept past at 40mph. But it was rush hour. Hey ho.

Child murderer! You that is at 23mph. The guy at 40 was past before the kids came out </clichedjoke>

How was/is Scotland? Did you have a nice time?

Ah this is something I was wondering when driving the Kia Niro (same platform underneath, or near enough). I used "iPedal" almost exclusively and did try a few times at night, where I'm sure the brake lights came on. Which makes me wonder whether it was programmed differently for different markets (I was in NZ).

Hmm it's a weird one. Adaptive cruise does light it up. Observation is key then, as ever! Both as a driver and as the audience. Lord I do hope it's just the US market configuration. @black-k1, can you attach a mirror to the back of your new bike and go and find out how yours behaves please? :D

I suppose the trouble with iterating fast on goods that have a decade-plus lifetime is many of these "ah we could have done this better" vehicles will be on the road for a very long time. Ref the headlights issues. Thankfully we're closer to ubiquitous OTA updates for all parts of cars as you say, and can limit the lifetime of many such issues.

I'm always conscious when following eVs though, that they can do some hella 'engine braking'.

More importantly, he's hiding a ponytail back there right?

Wow! Doesn't it make you look like you're going really slowly?  ;)
Haha yeah a slight hiccup is its max speed is around 15-20mph!

Well damn it to heckington. After Brian persuaded me to bring my quadcopter on our little Wales trip this week, we tried the Maven app thing which adds features to my Mini that DJI don't.

So now I can annoy everyone by doing bird's eye follow-me type stuff as well as onboard footage.

i.e. this.

So I'll almost certainly be bringing it with me alongside the 360 camera thingy. @Martin I apologise in advance for the day I remember I have them and keep wanting to pull over/climb that mountain to rescue it.

Oh also ill add that it's now made from PETG, which is far superior to PLA in the whole standing up to being outside slash not slowly degrading stakes. It's some old stuff I had which is why it is in that strange semi transparent colour and not black.

I had my pla windscreen deflector extender break this week, which reminded me how useful PETG is. I'm unsure what Jaxe used for the bought kits. Hopefully PETG too. Or at least not PLA.

Success! Tested these last few days and it seems I reverse engineered the pcb/wiring info correctly.

For this one I also wired in the little power shield thing to take the bike 12v switched feed and bop out a nice 5v for the wemos thing running BarButtons. It's just stuffed in at the mo so next iteration I'll either work out if I can stake, or else update the pcb to mount that too.

Sounds great! Where in Luxembourg will you stay? About 12 years ago I stayed in Vianden, which is right on the east border. Lovely area! Being a newb' I then read "Neuerburg" on the map and thought that was the 'ring. So I had a bit longer to ride to get to the real one later on :D. Thankfully both were roughly the same heading from Vianden!
