Import Duty

Anyone bought anything from outside the EU for 15/20 quid does import duty start from zilch?

Yes, and not quite as simple as that mate.

I import quite a few astronomy parts from the US and have had to pay duty on stuff costing £8 and have paid nothing on stuff costing £40.
