Well, i'm sticking to the little Oxford bag on the rack at the moment, which is already full of things i'll probably never use :D.

I require a medal though for stopping myself buying a frigging Mosko Moto Reckless 40 or wtf and bankrupting myself.

Oh I agree, I think i'm just enjoying getting some 'wrench time' as the isolationists say :). I just managed to persuade the preload thingy to move round too, and now my loaded/race/hamster sag has gone from roughly 22% to 28%, with a drop of 15mm. I'll see how that goes. What's the symptoms of too low preload? Bouncy bouncy?

Also I am loving the seat removal mod you did. It makes it so much less agonising when I remember I need to take it off again for something :).

I'll ride it soon I promise! My spoke wrench arrived today so I had a quite satisfying time torquing them all. I want to go round GSs now to see the state they're all in!
I also swapped the GPR out for the stock. Added a couple of Kg back, but I've also removed the top luggage plate thing which saved me 1kg. So I'm not feeling too bad about the weigh gain!

And as you predicted Brian, I'll likely be putting the stock gear lever back for now anyway, whilst I determine which Internet ones look least likely to be the same one under different names.

Oh and tomorrow I'll be practicing the tyre/tube faffery on the spare wheel :).

I should be heading to Salisbury in July with my Portuguese trip friends too! Purely for the spire.

Ok I've not given up. Read this:

Seems we've now got more options and they're using Android now directly. Chipolo looks Tile-like but with replaceable batteries.

Spent a day reverse engineering the wiring diagrams and learning how to use pcb design tools. Then learning how to get a 2d slice of the BarButtons case to work out how the pcb should be cut to fit. Then submitted it to be lasered and cut by some PCB maker.

Relatively cheap at 20 euros for a minimum order of 3. If I cocked it up or determine there are improvements required it's not too upsetting.

Also the PCB people - Aisler - are Europe-based! Was relieved not to be pushed down the China route. Indeed the prices were very similar. (I await someone to tell me they outsource to China and I will then cry)

Ah sorry, made an assumption!

I did consider an Apple Airtag or a Tile.
But both designs annoyed me:
- Airtag doesn't work with Android
- Tile battery isn'tr replacemable unless you buy the expensive (and thus annoyingly large) version.

So I decided to get a life instead.

When I really lose the key you can all have a hearty laugh at my expense.
You're welcome!

If you want to try the Tile I can make you this case for it.

Edit: do you know the numbers for Tile users? As I understand it Apple ones get tracked by Apple devices, Samsung by Samsung (although have they stopped now? I can't find the one I bought). How popular is Tile?

Mange tout!

Speaking of peas, do you use a Bip and Go type tag on the tolls with your bike? We used these last year and it was only at the end of my long ass trip, coming north again, that I finally got somewhat reliably recognised by sticking dead centre in the lane thing.

Too late! And it's your fault!

I rode down to a local place in an attempt to find somewhere to book the Honda for its mot etc. Success there and they had a "thirty quid cashback" on Road 6 tyres. So I booked the ktm for mot and tyres.

Welcome Andy!

Just saw your update. So how do they assure (or pretend to) the safety of the bikes? Just checking so we know not to get too close to any this year :p.

Damn, things keep getting more expensive. I see Micheldever is on their main list, and a well known place, but not on the list of people doing the offer. I might just stick to what I know! My last tyre change gave me a nice scratched orange wheel. Although that was in Croatia. Hashtag balkans-brag :/

Nice short list of places the deal is available at :(. I wonder how it works so badly that some opt out.

Good stuff. Anybody have experience running these? I need new tyres before the OG.

Still no response, however I've just been perusing his Instagram/Faceface etc and now have 4 more images of the circuit board from various angles. As my FPV camera for the mini plane isn't working, and I'm waiting on more tiny tech to get the Tx and Rx to talk, I'll spend some time today working out how to PCB. I did a week or so work placement back when I was somewhere around 14 or 15 at a local business where I got to design PCBs (to keep me busy, but it was a fun early problem solving job) so i'm sure I'll remember eventually!
