after I fitted a new lambda and headers to my GT it still ran a bit thirstily until I reset the adaptations with the 911

That was what I had in mind when asking Brian. In any way I believe that after every basic components replacement there is a need for some adjustment . Still with big k bikes opinions even among mechanics vary.

It is on the list of things to be tidied up once I get the GS connected up, probably tomorrow! The big thing I am looking for is the high idle at high altitude to have gone away! Despite assurances and support from the importers in UK, the Power Commander is still the thing I am most suspicious of although I can't for the life of me see how it can cause the problems.

Brian (who thinks the PC was an unecessary addition but one that came before the true fix for the original bad running)
