Do you have access to an old fashioned charger, if so put it on for a couple of hours to raise the voltage above 6V and then put it back on the smart charger.

Afraid not.  Just the clever one which is not being clever enough...

I have a very old Halfords battery charger which rarely gets used but I will not part with, just in case  :)

we trick for very low batteries, a lot of you probably know anyhow, get another battery and put the two of them on the charger, the charger won't work if the battery is showing too low a voltage so the second battery ups the voltage reading and the charger works as normal. leave it like that for a few hours then remove the assist battery and things should be ok ...unless your battery is goosed in which case your battery is, ... well, goosed.
i know little or nothing on the lithium batterys so thats definitely at your own risk but lead, agm or gel this will work with. if you're charging agm or gel without a smart charger be sure to use the trickle charge only, they don't like high voltage.

When you join the 21st century and go lithium  :), your old charger will work fine cuz it the desulpahte mode in all modern chargers that knackers lithium up.

Having seen first hand how electric mountain bikes are coming on in leaps and bounds, i’m certainly an interested spectator on how road bikes will progress.

In parallel one should add, not in series...

If the e-ride KTM is anything like their off-road bikes it will need the equivalent of a full service every 10 hours running time. So that's probably a new battery, wheel bearings and drive motor...
