Schuberth S2
« on: October 10, 2016, 01:45:26 pm »
Not a review but a request for one (or more)....

Anyone own(ed) a Schuberth S2? Any useful info/opinions gratefully received. I like the look of the S2 Sport, tried one on in Helmet City on Sunday and it fits me well and is pretty light...

Hahahah nice one.
Can comment on side visibility and comfortnes  and my marks are not good at all. During hot days it's unbearable and seeing anything appearing fm side streets it's almost impossible. Something goes wrong with that form the last three years.
New visor costs more than 80e and inside pads around 100e per pair . Although expensive have to admit the brand offers good service.
Will go for the new HCJ helmets the future is there.

My current lid is a Shoei GT Air. I thought the Schuberth side vis was about the same or slightly better so no worries there, and it's lighter. The Shoei is a bit more plush and cosy feeling.
In the UK the visor for the S2 is less than £50.

Size matters and in an XS side visibility is poor.

I've had the S1 and S1 pro, very quiet and comfortable and yes they are tight getting on. The ventilation is excellent far better than the shark I have now although the side vision is better on the shark. If I had a choice and the cash I would get another schuberth.  With the NEC coming up you may get a better deal especially on the last weekend.

Helmet city are doing the matt black versions for £300 at the moment and a special on the red/black/white at about £350, very tempting at those prices for a lid of that standard....

I think the special on the black/red/white is a web-only offer as there's a code to enter at checkout...

All : just a reminder that Motolegends do a best price match less 10%. No fuss at all. Have done this in store - haven't checked if they will do it if you phone them up...
Late emerging biker - took the first bike plunge at 50 with a 12GT : swapped for a 13S 9 months in... then got my mitts on a lovely 2014 13R Dynamic in rrrrrracing rrrrred! Then the COVID came along... so I upped it to France and bought a V85TT... O Sole Mio etc etc!
