K1200 / K1300 Forum / K1200 Gearbox

Rather than a long ramble the old K decided it eat it’s gearbox today...riding two up from Shobdon airfield back to north B’ham including going via Kidderminster with it stuck in 6 gear...having already eaten 5th was an experience i’ll Not be forgetting in a while....

Preliminary phone calls around the motorcycle trade both BM and otherwise....we’re not good, looks like the old K may well be heading for the bin....thank heavens for multiple bike ownership...so currently will be pushed to the back of th garage until a solution or scrap man appears

Talking to friends in the bike trade today...and the subject of tyre supply turned up...plan your buying because supply quote ‘Is either feast of famine’ orders are as far ahead as July in hope they turn up.

Managed to get the KTM out yesterday and the X/R to today to ride around the block...it appears one of effects of Covid it’s knackered up all the indicator systems or every bugger can’t be arsed too use them.

Despite living yards from the M6, haven’t used for months, click and collect locally and any other mileage is done on a mountain bike.

Went two junctions down the motorway today and frankly never witnessed anything like it, now in fairness Friday afternoon/evening around here are legendary but Wednesday midday...., there’s that much traffic they won’t even open the hard shoulder for fear of breakdowns and accidents, 3 solid lanes of traffic all travelling the same speed and exactly the same coming home... completely bonkers was like a Bank Holiday getaway.

Just had my MCN turn and I see he has died, saw him many a time riding the JPS Norton and after his accident,certainly benefited from his R+D with disc brakes and mag wheels. RIP.
