...or has someone already been stung?

We have a reasonably diverse demographic apart from females and BAME's.

OK, we don't have a very diverse demographic...

But, nonetheless, who do we reckon might be first among equals. As a Septuagenarian, I'm about mid-Feb I reckon although the old Asthma might bring it forward a little, gasp, gasp  ::)

I reckon Ron is up there with the super-wrinklies and a great chance of taking the pot for the first although he is of course, fit as a flea.

Anyone else like to take a punt at when they might get it?

Brian (who is having a slow day in Phmode Hovel stuffing logs in the old burner and betting on how long each will last  :) )

I jumped two rungs up our schedule ladder two days ago, on my 55th birthday. On saying that, I'm happy to wait as there are others that need it before me.

don't put any money on me.
i'll just wait and see. i think give the two doses as designed to high risk people, the rest of us can wait it out.
my thoughts anyway. i certainly wouldn't stop anyone getting it if they wanted but equally i don't want to be forced into it.
usually there's a row now.

Apart from cleaning the bikes in 0° temps there is not much to do (and I ain't going out to do that). Of course I could take the Xmas decorations down or polish the silver or shave me head but the excitement od having just beaten myself at Poker on the laptop has made me come over all giddy...

Those who need it most only need the one dose initially and it's more important to get it into the most arms possible in the shortest times possible. Every second dose given at 21 days is a first dose not given to someone else.

The big problem with lower risk folks not getting it when it is offered is that they can become asymptomatic positives and turn into super spreaders.

Anyway, drinking bleach works just as well  :o

My Mother (86) had hers this morning (the Pfizer vaccine) and only received the call yesterday, so perhaps best not to expect too much notice.

If I got a call from the doctor at 3 in the morning telling me to have my jab at 4 I'd be there like a rat up a drainpipe.
As things stand at the moment the first four groups are supposed to be vaccinated by the 15th February and I am in group 5 so I hope to be jabbed shortly thereafter.

You're right Rae. For those of us who are mobile...

They can send the surgery cleaner to stick needles in my eyeballs (or any other balls they fancy) as long as I get a trillion anti-bugs inside me.

I know my politics are only slightly to the right of Attila the Hun but seeing idifots in Parliament square protesting about their bloody civil liberties being infringed  >:( ; there are some bits of their anatomy I would like to infinge. Try discussing civil liberties with Melanie if she is at the front end of this shite and I look forward to reading her edited response.

As for eejits taking photos in empty hospital corridors claiming this 'proves' that the NHS is NOT at breaking point...and therefore the whole epic thing is a conspiracy.

Mid to late May for me. Hey ho.

My 89 year old Mum and 90 year old Dad have heard nothing yet - whereas my 80/85 year old in-laws had theirs 2 weeks ago, and the second is due v soon.
(Even though they aren't doing seconds, but that's what they've been told.)

So it's not an even spread - maybe it's biased towards towns/cities as opposed to my rural parentals?

It's about having the staff to administer and the supply of the vaccine.

Well I am with Farmer on this one lads, after checking out the Pfizer vaccine and seeing the results of the tests carried out on the first 100 people its not for me at all, I will be waiting to see the contents of the Oxford one before making any decision on that.
