I was out for a potter with IAM, and they said occasionally my rear brake light was on - I guess from my foot just touching and depressing the rear lever.
So, I fiddled with it, and although I can get the brake to start working lower down (by winding the little connecting rod up a bit higher), the lever still sits at exactly the same position when not touched. It's sprung, and I can't see any adjustment to move the 'at rest' position to be lower.

Maybe there's a grubscrew/adjuster that I've missed that pushes the lever lower.
Any ideas?

Note these are the tarty Motorsport rearsets, so the adjusments may well be different to standard.

Thanks in advance...

I have used the method you describe on a number of bikes in the past for the same reason, however if you have the Motorsport footrests easiest solution is to lift the pegs up.  I raised mine just "one stop" and it made the relative physical position of the brake pedal so much better for me and did not decrease riding comfort.  Peter

I raised the pegs a bit too and it solved my occasional paranoia in traffic for the same thing.

Easy for short people, to raise the pegs. But I guess for Richard, it feels already now as if he's riding with his knees touching his elbows...

Well, it serves you right for getting rid of a perfectly good K ordinaire and getting a tarty one. I can assure you it never happened on your old bike.

There is no adjustment on the stock pedal either although there is a forged 'land' at the inside face of the pedal where the 'stop' is, which could be drilled and tapped for a grub-screw.

The adjustment operation is performed with a special machine connected amd the PC on brake calibration module in order for the integral brake system to operate correctly.

Bit "heightist" :-) I'm 6ft 2", however it sounds like it is case of choosing which poison you prefer...  Peter

I have the answer:
- a self-adhesive bumpstop between the lever and the main body of the rearset, that keeps the lever slight lower at rest

The lazy man's grubscrew.  ::)

I overcome the problem by not bothering with the back brake.

Saw it off.  8)

But you're right, the back brake is only useful for low speed control. And not a lot else.

I did attempt a bodge to lower the rear brake pedal but it was not very successful. I wrapped a zip tie about the pedal so that the fat part of the tie would sit between the pedal and the padal stop. Trouble was that it would not stay in position for long.

I've overcome the problem by not buying a tarty K  ::)

And David will be along in a moment to slap your little botties...not using the rear brake indeed  ::)

And never hit anything for want of a back brake yet...
