PR3 found, may i ask date of manufacture as michelin claims discontinue production as of 9th week of 2015.

I had heard this so was curious when I saw them advertised, and called to see if they were in stock. I am waiting for a call back tomorrow as the shop has a front but is ordering a rear. I will ask for date of manufacture. How old is too old? Maybe I should order another couple of sets while I'm at it

Tiyres acoarding to manufacturers can be kept in a storage with controled ambient temperature and humidity for up to 7 years fm manufactured date.
After fitting to a car deteroration is 17 times faster and on a motorcycle 20 times faster.
Its all up to the treatment tyre gets fm the dealer, do not forget last year the issues faced by one of our members when his tyres were completely destroyed after a single trip when at the same time another member had fitted the same tyres and by comparison those apeared almost new, best guess then was pour storage and treatment by dealer.
Embrace the wind.

The rate you are going through tyres means your's are used up in less time than the tyre spends being manufactured!

I am told this morning that: They are still making PR3 in the 190/50 size. They stopped the 190/55 for reasons known to themselves. Availability of the PR3 will depend to some extent on the size of the orders placed by the tyresales companies.

What tyres are you contrasting them with Dave? Those pesky round black things are a very personal taste so we need to know the benchmark.

Brian (who discovered exactly what the ABS assisted stopping distance is in the shite yesterday and can't stop kissing his PR3's  :o )

PS Before you ask, it was a truck throwing a 180 with no indications, lurching from my nearside lane of an urban dual through a gap in the Armco. I was considering my options right up to the point where the bike stopped with 10 metres to spare. The car that slithered to a halt beside me(!?!) obviously thought he could get through the rapidly diminishing gap cos he was way above the 40 limit, unlike me! Cue saintly sound of harps and wondering if I had time to ring Tim before the bang!

Oy, Im the accident specialist, behave.

Tyreleader still have plenty of stock of PR3 at £109.89 and PR4 at £111.89.
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everybody is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

You still using them after your tread issues after Spain last year?

I'm afraid so. Hard to beat them on price.

I'm not sure if the wear on the tyres in Spain was down to spirited cornering and road surfaces?

....strange none of the other power rangers seemed to suffer.

Brian (who suspects it was all those knee-down circuits of the roundabout outside the hotel that nailed it  )

Think said it before. My dealer stated those were poorly stored tyres, maybe the ones on display somewhere and for long time.
