I had a buckled front wheel pressed out by Motoliner Christmas before last. They did a great job. Can't remember how much it cost because there were other problems all sorted by Coopers Tunbridge Wells (who took my wheel to Motoliner in Maidstone) at the same time.

Good luck with the wheel. Apparently a bad buckle can be an MOT failure.

Agreed. As soon as the new switch was fitted I noticed a more positive feel to all operations of the new switch.

I will definitely mention all your helpful comments when my bike goes in for its service. However, I do not have the extended warranty so doubt BMW will feel obliged to help me out as the bike was 4 years old when the switch failed.

Cheers for now,
Tony

'Evening all,

I have read this thread with concern. Are both handlebar switch clusters, right and left, subject to a recall? I had to replace the left hand cluster last January for which my dealer charged me about £350. Also, my dealer tells me that I am completely up to date on all recalls and that the wheel flange for my 2011 K1300GT is not subject to a recall. Earlier K1300GTs apparently but not mine.

The bike is in for a service a week next Friday so if anyone has proof of these recalls I would be very grateful.

To clarify, Cooper's have always been very good in the past about recalls, doing them during services as and when they occur so I am intrigued to know why they said nothing about my switch then told me I do not need the replacement flange!! Have I done something to offend them??

Cheers all,
Tony

Excellent choice of bike Jack. Yes, they are great fun to ride and handle like a dream! As Rae says, let us know if you can track down a hugger for the GT....

Seconded by me. A truly sublime motorcycle that is a joy to ride.

You can keep your modern stuff. The trouble & strife knitted me an arran jumper. Comes down to me knees and I need to tuck the arms up to stop the sleeve cuffs poking out of my jacket but boy does it keep me warm!!

Lasts forever and just needs the occasional wash.

Cheers all,
Tony

Just found the new forum so thanks Winger and Teztec for pointing me in the right direction.

In case any of you remember my last post on the old forum you might be interested to hear I had to buy a new handlebar switch. Ouch!! Just what I needed after Christmas. Anyway, the powered screen now works a treat and as an added bonus I don't have to keep fiddling with the cruise control.

Cheers all and I shall now trawl through your posts to keep up with the wild and exciting world that is BMW ownership.
