Title: Does Tesla Autopilot Detect Lane Splitting Motorcycles?

Long answer, but worth a watch:

Short answer (in my opinion):
Worse than the average driver, but it's at an early stage.
I'm not sure I'd want to filter close to a Tesla.

However, it may yet add weight to the 'Loud pipes save lives' mantra if they were to add some audio detection to the Tesla software.

Just wait till we are all (forced to be) riding silent electric bikes...have to go back to putting lolly sticks in our spokes  8)

I'm expecting some novel design that makes a motobike looks bigger / more noticable to the autopilot systems.
Amplify the ultrasonic signal going back to the Tesla, maybe? Like a very bright HID, but for ultrasound.

Could be a solution indeed. But few chances these will ever be built, as they might disturb the signal for the mobile phone the Tesla's driver is texting with during his "hands-free" ride ...
