Ride Out Reports / Re: Travel plans for 2021
« on: January 05, 2021, 10:32:23 am »
We are heading for Switzerland in the summer (Grindelwald) via France (or Belgium, or Holland if that turns out to be easier!). Myself and wife on the K1300GT, and our daughter on her Honda NC700X.

We hope to visit Europe's biggest bike dealership nearby, a couple of cafe's well known for views of the Alps and a village that is only accessible by cog railway and cablecar.

One of my favorite places to go hiking take a week in August or start of September contact me if you want any info

How To - Tech & Forum support / Re: DIY Heated clothing

How long are your commutes  and how cold is it.
I commuted on my GSX650F for three years with temperatures down to Zero never had heated grips, never felt cold OK it was only 45 minutes each way but I always arrived as warm as toast.
My K13S has heated grips which I have switched on once to see if they worked but they have never been used.
Am I one of the luck people who just does not feel the cold.

K Club Humour / Car Problem:
« on: October 20, 2020, 11:45:51 am »

Phoned the garage, the mechanic asked what the problem was:

Me: It's got no power, frequently stalls, randomly jumps into reverse and pulls badly to the left, can you have a look at it?

Mechanic: What kind of car is it?

Me: It's a Kia Starmer....

"I would be very interested in the short route around the WW1 Battlefields."

flatfour, there is not short route around the WW1 battle fields my grandfather was at Vimy ridge with the Canadians and so I have with the help of his diary visited a good few places.
Just for an idea you start at Lper pass through Arras to Albert and two weeks later you may have seen half of it.

I have changed the battery on my 2012 K13s twice and never had a problem but I don't have the alarm option. It looks like this is the place to start looking.

...do you do 500 miles /year?
Well it's possible that the owner could not ride it, at one time I had three cars one of them not suitable for most of what I needed at the time so my 911 Carrera did not use one tank of fuel in a whole  year.

If I were you I would remove the throttle lock too dangerous unless it's the type that releases when you put the brakes on. I had a friction type on the bike used it once never again.
