I am potentially going to buy a k16 .. been looking about for a while, can i ask what is the rough cost to extend the warranty when it comes due with BMW, it is currently under warranty for a few more months and i do not want to have one that is not covered going forward.  Many thanks

Google may not be your friend but it is effective at finding answers... :)

It's worth reading the exclusions too. The insurance backed extended warranty is different from both the '3 year from new' and '2 year approved used' warranties.

My 2015 R1200RT is about £38 a month I think as is my K1200S so I'd guess you'd be in that ballpark. If you get a reg number from a similar bike from bike trader or ebay etc then you can get a more accurate idea on BMW insured warranty

At a slight tangent, the BMW Motorrad service plan - Service Inclusive - is worth a look if you are the sort of owner that keeps their bike for 3+ years:
https://www.bmw-motorrad.co.uk/en/service/service-inclusive.html#/section-service-inclusive-pricing

Note that it is transferrable even if you do sell before the 3/5 years is up.
It's definitely cheaper than individual services because every 3rd service is spennie.
