A suggestion you may want to consider Rae. When we do an Old Gits trip we set up a dedicated WhatsApp group for the trip. That way everyone can join and share messages easily and securely through one specific route. It also gives the option for real time location tracking shared only with those on the trip. You can then "kick everyone off" the group at the end of the trip.

I agree with this Rae, I do the same on each trip I do with a group.

Hi Tom I also have the Cardo Edge so pairing should be easy peasy. I haven't looked at sharing location on Whatsapp for a while but last time I looked there was a time limit whereas with Google maps you can share until you turn it off.
I will look into it.

There is a 20 min time limit per sharing session.

I have taken a look Tom and the maximum share time on WhatsApp is 8 hours so we would have to start it up every day. With Google you can turn it on and leave it on until you choose to turn it off. But hey I'm willing to give it a try.

I’m on sena once I remember how to use it and Garmin Zumo also when I work out how to use it too! 🙄 honestly I’m good with everything else but techno 🙈🤣🤣🤣
I’ve also got to fabricate (as non available) a mount frame for it before we go as I want it above my clocks in view. Now that’s another time absorbing task.

We are all back home safe and sound.
We started with seven then down to six and then four of us but I think a good time was had by all with no mishaps, well one small one, Tom bumped into the back of me and put a hole in my left pannier (the one I just had painted)  But hey ho let's go.

The weather on the way to Northallerton was fantastic so it was always going to go downhill from there, and it did. We did have some clear bright bits interspersed with showers and spells of heavy rain. We were all togged up for the weather so not really a deal apart from riding in the rain is not a lot of fun.
