Found this on a quest for the reason behind riding a motorcycle.

Makes for interesting reading Costas. Nothing startling there but, as with many academic papers, it's interesting to see some analysis of aspects of life we may take in our stride. Personally, I've always found riding therapeutic. The suggestion that, for some, it could be a clinical therapy had not occurred to me.

Food for thought:
There are the tantric riders - those who get their high on doing hundreds of miles a day, just to see the road vanish from under the wheels. Thy start early in the day in order to make their next destination, which is not important really, because what matters is the journey.
Then there are those who prefer to reach whatever destination as fast as they can. It can be anywhere. What matters is the ride too, but normally a shorter and more intense one.
In my case, I love the playground that is going to work and back on a fantastic bike. Filtering, leaning and smoking the competition with a grin on my face, or taking a longer route along sunny old marginal.
Far away travels don't come easy and don't come often, unfortunately. But I have the daily commute to play with :)

Ah yes, the dreaded daily commute!

Brian (who can just about remember it, if he tries very, very hard, which of course he doesn't do  ;D )

Sorry Costas, I have to say, not one of your better finds. :o

I couldn't really take it seriously with "what a load of twaddle" being my polite responce.  :(
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everybody is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

Afraid it just another academic paper and maybe written by someone who never ride motorcycles (its a thought). Its only a paper found during my research.
The story behind it, is my everlasting quest to better understand why we feel the way we do when we ride our motorcycles. I'm currently preparing a paper under the title '' The real feeling and what is it exactly?""  but that paper will take me a lot more time to publish, and surely I'll find a lot more controversial papers in the net.
