First found this place pretty much by accident about 12 years ago, soon after it opened. Since then we've stayed there for two or three nights most years. Driven, ridden, flown/train/bus. Often used it as a stop-over on our way to, or from, the Alps. It's probably the most relaxing place we've ever stayed. Can't put my finger on quite why, I guess it just suits us. Everything about it is around 4 stars out of 5. There's always someone around who speaks English if your Dutch is rusty. The Abrona organisation is a training/care group supporting adults with special needs. The hotel trains and employs such for the catering and hotel industry. It's a hundred yards from the old village centre where there are some decent shops and cafes. You could always visit the rope museum! Local roads are ok if you enjoy a gentle potter along dykes and canals.
90e for a double room with a decent breakfast.
Around 20e or 30e for set menus, or you can go a la carte for a touch more.
Not a budget place but you we are always remembered and made very welcome. Like I said, a relaxing place.
