Sunny Southport: parked up below the Travelodge. 'Don't worry, the kids probably won't mess with them.' Or words to that effect from the receptionist. Eek. I slept with the window open, listening:
Southport: dinner - lamb shank. Yum:
Holmfirth: Sid's Cafe (as in Last of the Summer Wine). Bit soggy, but a lovely run from the edge of Rochdale, over the moors.
Left to right: Philip, Terry, Glen, Rae, Matt:
Melton Mobray: Brian demonstrating 'last man drop-off', so no one got lost on the way back to the hotel after dinner.
Was Age UK was sending us a sign with a sign?
Middle of Nowhere: lovely bike-friendly petrol station + Ady in Power Stance
(tm)And (l to r) Rae, Brian Matt filling up:
Met for lunch with TomL at The Cock & Bell in Long Melford:
Left front to right: Rae, Glen (Bruno), Brian (Phmode), Terry, Ady, TomL, Matt.
Who the hell brought that mini picnic basket in their pannier?
Glen waiting for the 125. Quite a long wait:
Still waiting...
Soon-to-be-sunny Clacton. 4 people, 1 seagull. Busy:
En route to the restaurant. The normal entrance was closed:
Rear observation demo by Brian:
How to negotiate a corner featuring Rae, with Dennis chuckling behind:
Being serenaded. Luckily the entertainer was at the other end of the restaurant.
The food was excellent - better than you might expect for the Restaurant At the End of The Amusement Arcade.
Properly homemade, as recommended by Dennis, who is local to Clacton:
Clacton starting to look a bit more bling:
And the last day was really sunny - the view from the hotel window:
Akrapovic add-on, the morning after:
An excellent trip, notwithstanding a bit of rain, and a bit (well, lot) of northern Manchester. Thanks Rae!
