Ponderosa Today

Know anyone thinking of going?? Went today and for what ever reason both roads up there are closed, as luck would have it had a excellent morning in Barmouth but that really is another story.

Well, there's a name that sparks a few memories.

Myself and a friend, both on K1200GTs, came from Cork in Southern Ireland,  went to Dublin, and met three friends from London in Hollyhead, and spend a great extended weekend last year blasting around Wales.

One of the breakfast stops was said Ponderosa Cafe.

That was one great, pre-Covid weekend. Thanks for reminding me.

I suspect they're doing prep work for the forthcoming 40mph speed restrictions. Possibly average cameras too :(

It's 5 minutes from my gaff, a mate has been up to the café via the "old" road that's behind the cafe

Cheers for that Steve, sounds about right the number if average speed cameras we went through yesterday, just a shame we couldn’t Get up there as we have a soft spot for the place, even more so climbing the hill on the opposite side of the road or should I say our two retrievers have...

Oooh, the old road looks quite sweet:

Beats cameras any day. We can expect it to be blocked off soon, then.  :'(

I was up there on Monday and it was closed. I thought there might be something military going on, but cameras makes more sense.

Was up there today looks like roadworks at the top, you can get to the Ponderosa from the Ruthin side the road says closed but its open to the cafe.
