K1600 meet up in Buxton - 6+7/7/19
« on: July 09, 2019, 07:42:45 pm »
14 Bike on the run out on Saturday and I think 17 overall with about 23ish people including pillions over the two days. Just a picture from Saturdays ride out where it rained most of the day unfortunately. A journo from Ride magazine done an article on it, so expect to see something I a couple of months.

Spent the night at the Palace hotel - grand from the outside - not so much on the inside :-[ We had a Tex Mex at the Lone Star - good food and enough to feed your horse also - do not try to have three courses here!

Two small incident but no casualties or damage - one 10mph topple on the mother of all cattle grids, and another on a metal drain in the car park - it's the low speed stuff that gets you on these beasts, but everyone had a good time over the couple of days there 8)

Good stuff!
Nice to see them together.

The weather - tch - you can never win, but with all that fairing, you probably didn't notice.  8)

With such bikers and bikes of such magnitudes even a trip down to Greece is feasible .
Love bike gatherings. Always fun.
Embrace the wind.

Looks like it in the picture but it's "white" - they owner had a jacket that made him look very much like traffic police  ;)

Very true, most owners had full Gortex two piece suits, so very few people got wet, but looking through glasses, then a rain soaked visor, and finally a dripping wet screen does nothing for your confidence or safety, so I only ride in the rain if I have to - basically I'm a tart :-*

I rode up on Friday in 28 degree heat and assumed a hot weekend. A bit gobsmacked Saturday morning to see it peeing down.

Cunningly left my waterproof lining and waterproof gloves in the garage. Kevlar jeans didn't keep me particularly dry either  :o

Serves you right! Anyone who rides more than 5 minutes from home without waterproofs in the UK is either daft or a fish  ;)

I even have two sets of waterproofs in my car. A decent set and a rather tatty working set for tyre changes in muddy lanes etc.

Brian (who doesn't 'do' wet  :'( )
