BMW K1300s Meeting and chin wag 2nd Sept
« on: September 02, 2018, 03:54:38 pm »
Well, that was a good turnout - 7 K1300S in Moreton-in-Marsh!
I was riding round looking for just looking for a single Andy.

And then a great ride through Rollright, Deddington & Aynho, to Jacks Hill Cafe, where there were another 6 K1300S, making 13 in total.
A good gas, lots of poking of seats, and comparing accessories (not Claires), etc.

Now I am utter rubbish with names, so here are some placeholders, and I'll correct them as you tell me - quick before anyone reads this. Oh.
We've got to get badges made next time. Ron - who we met at Jacks Hill Cafe - had one. Clever man!

From left to right:
- Andym535
- Richtea (stood to attention worrying about the man holding his phone)
- Definitely NOT Swindon Andy
- Rob?
- Ady
- Steve?

Sorry to be so rubbish at names. Again :-[ :-[ :-[

I'll post a few more later, but post yours too.

The (older) Pan European, and the K1300S : the most beautiful bikes ever made by man...
There are I0 kinds of people : those who can count in binary, and those who can't...

This is a short random clip from the 360 camera experiment. I think it could do with being 6” or so further outboard to get a better view forward. https://youtu.be/dd1HT__Y90I

Good stuff, Andy, but I reckon you're right - either further outboard, or maybe up front?
Does your RAM mount let you set it just above the screen? I can't remember hwo long it was.

I reckon it may need earplugs too.  ;D

I think it's really clever the way that you can scroll it right round to look backwards and see I'm being followed by a Motorsport. On a phone/tablet you can change the view by moving the phone. YouTube over compresses it I think, but it looks reasonable if you force it to 4k or 5.7k mode and wait for it to download.

The next mounting point I'll try will be on the wing mirror stalk.

Ahhhh - I didn't think to scroll the video sideways. You did say (I'll listen more carefully next time!).
Now that is fun.

Like you say, the default resolution is a bit too jaggy (if you're on rural broadband), but the 2160s resolution looks v good.

Some more photos - numbered. Feel free to identify yourselves!

Moreton-in-Marsh - morning:

1.

2. Mirror shadows like dogs ears. Weird.

Jacks Hill Café:

3.

4.

5.

6.

7. Very clean custom paint job - even better in the flesh than in the photo

8. Overflow parking. Didn't quite have room to get them all in line.

Just taking the dog out, dear.

9.  A rare thing - an interesting Harley. With a dog accessory. If there was a market, they'd sell them.

10.

11.

12.

Almost scenic - for a petrol station:

13.

Nice photos. I'm second from the left in photo 1, my bike has the helmet on the tank. Other shots I am in the red T shirt.
It would be good to get all the faces to names in here.
I did enjoy the meet, all good people with a range of interesting differences and lots of K bike knowledge.

If were taken by the 360 camera you would.
Its not always the destination that counts its the ride, having a destination just stops you going round in circles.
