my two penneth
I have used an Autocom on my RT, and had problems hearing music clearly over the windnoise, I got an adaptor and used ear buds, problem solved, until I took my wife away..... she could never get over the delay from the Vox grrrrr, although the Autocom used with a phone wired in was a great success (she could butt in as much as she liked, but only I could hear her )
later on we tried some bluetooth headsets, chat was fine although she kept complaining that wind noise was transmitted from mine to hers, I found music was not really useable over 50-60mph. on the other hand the ability to talk whilst parking was worth having.
last year we didn't even bother fitting them, so probably not a great success.
move on a while and I have bought a K1200 with Autocom, 2820 already fitted, so I am in the same position as Brian, although to date I haven't even got around to seeing if my old leads fit, this bike has a PTT switch fitted so that might make the old Vox problem go away so we will see.
I like the idea of bluetooth, I don't much like the price, I have never bothered with listening to a satnav, i just include the screen in my instrument sweep, you rarely need to spend more than a second reading it, and I have found voice commands have a habit of occurring after the fact
has anyone managed to fit a headset so that the supplied speakers were audible at speed?
