Aston Pottery

Had a nice bimble out with the wife a couple of weeks back and came across this little gem in Oxfordshire. On the B4449 near Bampton. Excellent restaurant and lovely garden surroundings with the usual craft shop thrown in. Well worth a visit.
See the link for further details.

Very nice too. I assume they have a K design hidden somewhere in the site  8)

Thanks that's just 19 minutes, according to Google maps, from NOG. So next time I have a service I'll take a ride over on the loan bike and have a look.  ;)

You could also add Whichford to your pottery tour of Oxfordshire so-far-down-in-Warwickshire-I-can't-believe-its-not-Oxfordshire:

https://www.whichfordpottery.com/

There aren't many potteries with a £1000+ section to their inventory! :o
The trouble with big pots is the failure rate when firing is high, hence the cost. Or it was at Aldermaston Pottery where I hung out as a yoof.

Anyway, they're top quality. Here's one reason:

ARE YOUR POTS FROSTPROOF?
We give a 10 year frostproof guarantee against lamination in the frost. We can give this guarantee because we prepare our own special frostproof clay using three different clays which we blend here at the Pottery. Our kilns are fired at a temperature which ensures that the pot is frostproof but still porous, ensuring a healthy growing environment for your plants.

Yeah, yeah, yeah! Yorkshire pots claim to be frostproof too and I have a garden full of DE-laminated and cracked Yorkshire pots; not to mention crackpots  :o

Still a nice find  8)
