One last question...for now.

I am interested to know more about the approved used warranty.
I have read a lot on here but am still a bit confused about terminology.
The bike I'm looking at has a two year warranty. Does this differ in any significant way from  buying new?

If someone can point me to the best thread on this matter I would be grateful.
What I am trying to find out is what is covered that would make it a better deal than buying private for less money.
In other words if the radiator fails in the first year of ownership etc.

Paul.

Thanks a lot folks - just the sort of help I need in my quest.

There is an R in at North Oxford so I'll try and find a day soon to contact them (if it doesn't sell) but
the weather looks a bit grim over the next day or so - I was blown all over the place yesterday!

I'm looking at a main dealer bike for the warranty as the K looks like a complicated beast compared to anything else I've worked on myself. I don't suppose they are open to "haggling".

Is there a way to prolong radiator life? An aftermarket front mudguard perhaps?

All advice is much appreciated,
Paul.

Thanks for the welcome.

What are the chances that a BMW dealer would arrange a test ride on one of their used bikes. I know not many are offered through dealerships now.

Ideally I'd like to try an R and an S for ergonomics.

I hope it is ok that I don't own a K yet but I have one on my shopping list. I'll do my research and wait for the right bike to come along.

I was sixty a couple of weeks ago and am at the semi retired phase in life where I hope there will be a bit more time for going on longer trips.

Currently I ride a KTM 950 Adventure as my everyday bike which I have always maintained myself. I won't be parting with it but I will probably bias it more to dirt roads.

At the moment I am leaning towards a K1300R but I know there aren't a lot of them about. I have a few questions but I'll look for the best place to post them.

Paul.
