At either price, definitely worth a try, but it's worth adding some protection where they touch the bodywork. It may not show after 3 or 4 rdes, but after 10k miles you'll some lovely reminders about where they sit.

...and the bodywork on the rear of the K is NOT soft luggage friendly as far as siting and stability is concerned. But, as you say, cheap enough for a holiday.

Well, one of our members goes on tour with all his 'about to be discarded' socks, pants and T shirts neatly packed in his cases and leaves each set, once worn, in the Hotel bins. Goes out fully loaded and gets lighter as the tour progresses.

Now he could just dump the cases too

I resemble that remark! but I think disposal panniers may be a step too far.  I don't think they'd cope well with ... er ... Autobahn runs!

That makes two us then,we’ll actually 3 because my other half does the same certainly  the first 3/4 days,as for panniers last time we used such must have been late 70’s,50l BM soft bag on the back,Bagster tank bag anything else needed gets purchased as and when on the road.
