Hello from Far East Europe
« on: April 23, 2025, 12:25:45 pm »
hello everyone!
I'm glad to be part of the community, especially since I'm a self-service enthusiast.
I have a 2010 silver grey k1300s rocket model, the first inline 4 engine in my career and luckily I think it best suits my style of motorcycling.
I invested in wheel guards, drive shaft, engine, philips leds which, by the way, do not give errors to the can bus system, fog lights with angel eyes, MRA touring screen, headlight protection, led signal lamps, tank bag, a sound bomb horn.
Recently I moved on to the technical side and replaced the fork pivots, the metal fuel connector - quick release, adapter plates for foot pegs, a rear suspension lowering kit - Lust Racing, and I'm currently waiting for the ESA to be reconditioned.
yep.. a lot of work and I'm sure I missed a few.
I will post photos soon, after I assemble the motorcycle and I want to share with you the experiences I had during the work carried out!

Welcome Codrin!

Sounds like you've put a good lot of work in already. Well done.
Which Philips LEDs did you use?

Welcome @codrin44

Sounds like you have it all planned out!

Like Rich I am wondering what Philips LEDS you are using?

Reason I ask is I replaced some of mine with Philips Ultinon Pro6000 where I could;

W5W Sidelights
P21W Rear Indicators

These didn't show any LAMPF/LAMPR CANBus errors either.

I also replaced the twin H7 Halogens with Philips GT200 which are halogen not LED leaving the factory Xenon intact as I was concerned about beam patterns of Xenon & Halogen vs LED with the original headlight reflector optimised for the original bulbs.

I did try a pair of P21W as rear stop/taillights but they didn't work at all due to the K1300 using modulation to switch between stop/tail rather than two separate filaments I suspect.

Front indicators are still using standard H21W as I didn't see a suitable replacement in the Pro6000 range although I would need orange/amber because I have clear indicator lenses which really clean up the look of the front end and make it look much more modern IMHO.

Interestingly all the bulbs I looked at were the original Osram bulbs looking at the dates on them the only failure being the right hand sidelight which was blown when I bought it only 2 weeks after a full BMW service.

While on the point of service I would definitely take a look at the air filter(s) as the one on my GT was original and was filthy.

I fitted the Schroeder BMW emblem LEDS which act as DRL & turn indicators and also have a SoundBomb both driven by the Hex ezCAN which allows a few tricks such as the ability to strobe and also dim the emblem DRL automatically at night and program in a variable delay when the horn button is pressed so a brief press sounds the factory horn while anything longer than 0.25 seconds in my case also brings in the Soundbomb as well.

It's always fun watching the MOT tester jump when he tests the operation of the horn... ;D

I would be very interested to know how you get on with both fitting and riding with the Lust lowering plates as I am considering fitting these to my GT. Most people who fit plates seem to fit risers but I can barely get both feet down on the standard bike with the lowest ESA settings!

When I calibrated the ESA with the GS911 it did lower the bike just a little to a position I was much happier with but that lifted back to the normal ride height shortly after so only a temporary solution in my case.

Looking forward to you posting the photos...

Thanks & kind regards,

hello again! so, the LEDs are Ultinom pro 3021, installed in 2023. they didn't give any errors. the front turn signals are clear on mine too and I installed yellow LEDs with a can bus system included, but I couldn't say where I bought them- probably made in china, but no problems. I removed that position bulb and connected it to that angel eyes cable of the projectors! the rear turn signals are barracuda, a model that also includes turn signals- yellow LEDs and brake-red LEDs, the latter being paired on the brake light cable and I installed a strobe system from healtech- brake light pro. it makes only the LEDs in the turn signals blink when braking. basically on braking I have 4 extra LEDs that blink. if I manage to upload a video I would be delighted. regarding the Lust system, lowering one, I haven't installed it yet because ESA is still in Holland repairing it but I can say that they are configured with the holes where the telescope is attached 1 cm lower than OEM. I'm going to make a video now and I'll try to insert the youtube link I'll be back!!

hello again! so, the LEDs are Ultinom pro 3021, installed in 2023.

Ah, thanks. Good video too - now temporarily blinded!

I've seen those Philips ones before, with heatsinks built in, which probably explains why they don't upset the CANBUS.
No problems squeezing them into the headlight shell?
