And just about the only constant and unifying factor in the lives of most folks our age.

I don't know about God save the King, god help us all more like with the idiot first born on the throne. Who in the name of all that is good wants a 74 year old ascending. If he had any decency he would slide off into even more obscurity and leave it all to the next generations. Of course, the double (at least) adulterer doesn't have much decency...

Of course, Anne would have been a far better man at the job than any of her brothers.

A very sad day indeed.

So Brain, what is your opinion on Charles?

I think he may well make a half decent king. After all he's served a pretty decent apprenticeship! I am happy to wait and see and judge on performance and I wish him all the best.

The only constant in life is change, and this is just another change in a never ending line of changes.
Correct rear brake use is scientifically proven to shorten stopping distances in EVERY road situation.

Believe me David, you do not want to know. I know his mum was always going to be a hard act to follow and I wouldn't want the job but nor do I want a ruddy-daddy, septuagenarian philanderer carrying on as if all is well with the world.

Someone who will inspire and serve as a good example to the young for decades to come would be much more in keeping with the times and someone who I could look up to. Charles? Not in a month of Sundays.

 :-[ Very sad day.

Amazing to think she was our Queen for 30% of the time that the USA has existed.

Yes. Lots of monarchy-related records broken over the last 7 decades but that one takes some believing. Just incredible service.
