Kenny Blake Memorial
« on: July 14, 2019, 05:14:36 am »
Visited a memorial for Kenny Blake recently, located in Strathalbyn in the Adelaide Hills where he grew up.

Kenny was a famous South Australian race rider killed at Isle on Mann TT in 1981 on his last race before retirement. Thought I would share with the forum:

“To arrive in the Rocky Mountains by plane would be to see them in one kind of context, as pretty scenery. But to arrive after days of hard travel across the prairies would be to see them in another way, as a goal, a promised land.”

I can't say I've heard of Ken Blake but that is a very nice and fitting memorial to someone who, I assume,  died doing what he loved.  Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Correct rear brake use is scientifically proven to shorten stopping distances in EVERY road situation.

An awsome piece of sculpture, though it looks harder to clean than a K radiator. Does it rain much there? There doesn't seem to be much rust on it.

Very impressive.
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everybody is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.
