Davida Jet Helmet
« on: October 02, 2016, 10:57:05 pm »
I'm partial to an open face helmet when it's warm. Yes, I know jaw protection is comprised, but it's just more comfortable.
My old Cromwell Spitfire helmet is well past its best so I've been looking for a replacement.
Called in at the Davida HQ on Monday to have a look-see
Excellent service, I rode away with a black and silver Jet helmet. Beautiful finish, leather lined, very well made. Used it in earnest for the first time today. Very impressive. The quietest helmet I've ever used, by a long way. Felt like I was wearing a double set of earplugs, and then some. Comfortable. Highly recommended.

There are loads of different colours and schemes available. Check out their website.

This was my choice, the screen was extra.

Nice! I remember when all helmets were like that, or they were an Everoak pudding basin with a peak.

I though I was a spaceman when I ditched my Everoak for a jet style of gawd only knows what make  8)

All you need now is one of those 360 spinning visors and your look will be complete! Got a pic of one somewhere and I think Costas once said that they are still very popular in Greaseland.

I have fond memories of mine which is probably still in orbit having flown off my helmet as I did a shoulder check on the East Lancs Road in about 1965  8)

Bet it kept the rain off though ::)
What do you reckon was the velocity of the spinning visor then just a few millimetres away from your snoz?

That all depended on whether you had a screen or not. One of my scoots did, the other didn't. It was fairly leisurely behind the rather tall screen but on the bike with no screen it was probably going faster than the engine  8) That's the one it took off on!
