Thanks all. I'll go with lead acid I guess, but will query the price - OEM BNW or no, surely 162 quid is OTT!!!???

Ditched my lead acid battery on the K in 2018 and fitted lithium, on an interesting learning curve because my oldest lithium(XT660X) is nudging 7 years old and still good.
Scuse ignorance - what's the difference / advantages between the two. Can you maintain both with an optimate (3) or does lithium negate the need?
Thanks,
Andrew.
Oh no, you have taken the lid off the volcano, Chris will be erupting for days now

My battery is, I would have thought a BMW part, and the dealer is Sycamore Motorrad Peterborough, who sold the bike to me and do nearly all work on it.
I simply asked them to fit a new battery when it is next in with them, as the existing one is now over four years old and, having suffered quite a few failures on bikes and cars without warning in years past I always renew at this age. I did not ask the price, however when I added a Navigator 6 to the request last week (to replace my Navigator 1V) I was told that my battery was in, at a cost of £83.00
I cannot imagine that a main dealer would fit a non - BMW part without discussing it with the customer first?
