Title: K1600GT Rear wheel removal
Post by: andym2 on February 07, 2024, 09:48:44 am
I've just changed the tyres on my K16GT. I don't have a service manual for the K16 but, after checking with my freindly local dealer, it turns out the torques are the same as the K13 as I'd assumed. They looked up the instructions for removing the wheels on the BMW online manual and that says that to get the rear wheel out you don't need to remove a silencer (as I did). Instead you remove 4 screws and the mudguard/number plate holder slides forward and comes off easily. Although getting the silencer off is easy, getting it back on again isn't so I'll definitely try taking the mudguard off next time.
