Car satnav on a bike

I only have a satnav for use in my car, however I have made a padded, 'slide in' cradle and mount out of aluminium to fit and use it on my KLT. It fits snugly on the top of the facia and is held in place by the screen.

My main problem is how to waterproof it. (I am not worried about lack of sound) The main point of water ingress will be the power point which is at the back and of course faces the direction of travel so will the 1st point to get wet should it rain.

I would be grateful for any workable ideas how to get around this.

Treat yourself to a proper motorcycle satnav with a bluetooth headset. Much safer than taking your eye off the road to look at a screen.

Simply I cannot justify the cost of buying a satnav for the bike only. The unit I have for the car cost about £125. For the bike I would be looking at something around £400+.

I don't use it all the time only for finding the way through towns and when I am pushed to find fuel stations. I can navigate all other ways using a sense of direction or remembering place names/road numbers.

I only asked for WORKABLE ideas to help make it waterproof, not how to spend my pension!

here are some options for you below. Ebay is also worth a look. I have a couple of cases from my days of using a car sat nav.
I am so glad I spent the extra on a dedicated bike Nav. If you tell me the size of your unit I'll see if I have a case to fit.

Im doing the same with me Windows Phone, totally free, (Company Phone, free app) and it even has live traffic updates
