Hello and welcome. You'll certainly find out lots about the K1200 on here.

As has already been said, finding somewhere to host your photos is the first challenge. Once hosted, then including them in a post is pretty easy. I use Thumbsnap for hosting. It's no better or worse than any of the others. One thing it does do is give you the forum code to copy'n'paste directly into your postings to include the picture. As an example, here's a picture from a recent trip to the Pyrenees.

Hi Darren and welcome to the madhouse that is EuroKClub and glad that you found us as well your K12.

As I'm sure you have already discovered, the world of bikes tends to be rather monotone, bikes are either black or white in riders eyes, no matter what colour they are. Most of the folks in here fall into the love 'em category but also, most folks in here may have had an issue or two with their K, be it sticking throttle bodies in my case, to dodgy paintwork and hot start problems. The clunky 1st gear engagement is a design feature but is easily overcome by pulling the clutch about 3 minutes before you intend to engage gear...

It's really only embarrassing at traffic lights with other bikes around cos you get the smirk from the creamy-gearboxed Japanese bike riders. You can kill two birds with one stone by keeping the clutch pulled in at lights. This not only eliminates the clunk into first but also makes sure the clutch is lubricated as it only gets oiled when the lever is pulled in.

The K12S is a real rocket ship which can bite the unwary with its almost sports bike speed and its almost tourer handling, so as a late-comer to biking with the beast as your first bike, it would be remiss of us if we didn't also suggest some additional training. Enjoy, Brian.

Welcome Darren, K’s are great for sure, well chosen for your first bike(?). Hope you have many happy years as a rider.

Welcome. You’ll find this site helpful.

There’s a bike meet up your way on the 6th July at the national motor museum. It’s their first motorcyclists meet. I’m going to try and make it but it’ll depend on what time I can get away from where I’ll be that morning. I have planned to meet a couple old mates there, but all depending on things like weather, time and stuff.

If you use face book and the like, you could try and jack up a meet at that event. I’m pretty sure there’s a k1200s riders group out there, or even a K bike group.  I don’t use anything like that. I can just about manage my phone and forums keep us posted if you manage to jack up a meeting
