I didn't know this BMW rear bag existed - maybe you didn't either:
https://www.shopbmwmotorcycles.com/oem-parts/bmw-motorrad-luggage-carrier-bag-77498562634
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394371024545
It's main attractions, to me at least, are:
- it's a tidder bag, big enough for tools, small enough not to disturb the handling at speed
- it has a sleeve underneath to slide onto the luggage rack, plus two securing straps so its very secure
- properly waterproof
- carrrying handle if you want to take it away
And the downsides:
- price is north of £100
- seems quite rare (it's manual is dated 2016, so possibly out of production)
I have not tested this properly, by the way - just saying it exists somewhere in my house, and Christmas is coming. ;D
I also have a QBag (http://www.poqit.com/qbag.jpg), and really wanted to like it, but gave up after a few months because I couldn't get the flimsy baseplate to stay still on the rack - the bag was always moving around a few millimetres however tight the straps were.
QBag link:
https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/313404
QBag pros:
- price is excellent
- fit is nice and tidy on a K rear rack
QBag cons:
- the 'baseplate' is difficult to keep tightly strapped on a K rack
- not waterproof
- not as sturdy as the BMW bag

Can't really beat the Pod on my Sargent Seat. Only problem is you need the Sargent Seat to fit it on...

I've got a small SW Motech tail bag that lives on the rack of my K16. https://sw-motech.co.uk/collections/pro-tail-bags-1 (https://sw-motech.co.uk/collections/pro-tail-bags-1)
(I hate top boxes almost as much as boxers and leave the panniers off to give more garage space). Just the right size for puncture kit and spare gloves.

The SW Motech one looks good, Andy. does it have a 'pocket' underneath to slide onto the rack?
And the Sargent Pod is v nice but the cost is unreal - $250 unpainted. + postage, import, tax, etc.

Mine came with a lovely blue and white checkered K1200S attached along with the original high seat, just not attached...

It does, but the rack on the K16 is wider than the bag so it doesn't really fit. My K13 doesn't have the rack, but I think it would fit better. There's no separate base, the zip round the bottom is to let it expand. You're welcome to try it if you're passing.

V kind, Andy - but Ms Cashmere has bought me the BMW one. How did she know?

I've used an older version of this for over fifteen years across a dozen or so bikes, fitted on every rack I've tried it on. Lasted really well and still in use:

Normally homes a set of waterproofs etc, but on Wednesday night my wife calls it the "Kebab Bag" as it expands to a perfect size for two Kebab and Chips :winkthumbs:
