remove fairing
« on: March 02, 2015, 07:25:03 pm »
I have a K1300GT and as a naturally lazy person I don't want to remove more of the fairings than I have to. can I remove the small fairing with the K1300GT "badge" on the left side of the bike (when sitting on it) without removing the main fairing?

thanks Graham

Posted in error. I initially read it as referring to the roundel badge within the main fairing….Doh…!!  :-[ :-X Sorry, I don't know re the K1300GT badge on the small panel below the tank...

By main do you mean front? If so Yes.
See GT Fairing Removal in the How to/various section.

or I may be thinking of the wrong bit?

Dont think you can mate, I had the main side fairings off my bike a number of times but never actually removed those grey ones, but Im sure there is at least one screw hidden behind the main fairing panel you need to get to.

Look here

The screw just above and to the left of the orange seal of the air filter me thinks
Isnt it Ironic, no its a BMW what dya expect.

Thanks Timbox, think you may be right, may just loosen the bolts and try and pull the small fairing out, should not have used the word badge as see that was confusing.

only need to get behind the small fairing to get at some wiring from sat nav to autocom.
