Greetings all.

cheers

Hi Doug and welcome to the madhouse that is EuroKClub!

Now then, c'mon; you can't just tease us with a one liner like that.

Which bit of Scotland?
Why'd you leave? Can't be the cold if you went to Boulder...

Give, give, give...

Brian (who once rode over a boulder, but that was another story altogether...😎 )

Sure,
I visited Boulder for an 18 month visiting scholar post in 1992, and that dragged on a bit, and then kids, and life, and whoosh, suddenly it's 25 years later! I like Scotland/UK a lot, but at the time I left it was fairly tough to find jobs in technology.

Boulder is colder than Scotland, when it's cold, but it's a whole lot sunnier. It doesn't *feel* colder much of the time but we can, indeed, get feet of snow. In the summer and shoulder seasons it's generally quite pleasant. People here freak out if it rains for 2 days in a row, which makes me chuckle...

My first significant motorbike trip was a tour round all the way round the coast of Scotland on a Honda 50 in the 70's!!  That was probably more dangerous than any riding I do on my K1300GT or R1100GS.

Wow! I rode a friend's new Honda 50 from the supplying dealer in Norwich back to her house. In Norwich! And that was far enough for me. All respect Doug 😎

My wife and I drove to Denver via the Rocky Mountain NP, an interesting road.
We flew out of Denver after a month and 5000 miles of driving.
You make me feel very jealous of you living in that area.
Its not always the destination that counts its the ride, having a destination just stops you going round in circles.

Welcome Doug!

I've no idea where (ok I'll google) Boulder is, but it sounds like it's a bit of ok!
